How Kinder Pediatric Urgent Care Started?

Our story can be traced back to an emergency room experience by one of the co-founders of Kinder Pediatric.

One day, at around 7pm, his 3-year-old child was injured while jumping on the bed at home.The child bumped his head on the edge of the bed and suffered swelling, along with black and blue discolorations near his eye. Where is the closest urgent care to me?

Do you have VIRTUAL consultation?

TELEMEDICINE FACTS AND SCHEDULING

Kinder Anywhere is our telemedicine platform that is available to all our patients. 

This is the equivalent of a secure FaceTime call that you schedule.

Most Insurances cover Kinder Anywhere.

Regular office visit copays and coinsurance do apply for telemedicine.  

We accept private and medicaid insurances as well as offer a very compassionate self pay rate for our telemedicine visit or in-office visits. 

You can consult a licensed healthcare professional from the comfort of your home. This allows us to care for your child in real time with no waiting room or cross contamination. 

Telemedicine visits are web based and can be booked through the above Kinder Anywhere link or via a link at www.kinderpeds.com or you can call our office to schedule.

*If your child has any difficulty breathing, please proceed to the nearest Emergency Department immediately. If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911.

*Please note that telemedicine is a limited consultation with a licensed healthcare professional. Medication or diagnosis can not always be ordered / determined without a physical examination. Please call the office  prior to scheduling if you have any questions. 

Do I need to make an appointment to visit an urgent care?

You do not need an appointment to visit any of our Kinder Pediatric Urgent Care sites. Walk-ins are welcome! 

What is the difference between an Emergency Room and Urgent Care?

I am from another state or am visiting from outside the US, can you treat or accommodate me?

Yes of course! We offer a variety of options to meet your needs  with competitive self-pay rates 

Is my personal data safe and private?

Yes, we value your privacy, safety, and security. We are fully HIPAA compliant and secure. You can be assured that your conversations with the clinician and your records are kept secure and private.

Do you also treat adults?

We do not, we only treat pediatric and young adults up to 26 years of age.

How does the treatment start?

You are free to say your problems whatsoever as soon as you book an appointment either online or walk in.

The team will hear you with all our care and we will solve everything together.

Most visits are answered in 30 minutes or less. Please make sure your child is with you at the time of their visit.

Who are the pediatric specialists who will treat my child?

Your child will be seen by staff that is all trained with pediatric emergency expertise whether it’s pediatrician, or pediatric nurse practitioner. Our physicians are board-certified in pediatrics and many have multiple subspecialty training and board certifications. 

What are your advantages compared to others?

  • We focus solely on the care and treatment of children and young adults, from birth through age 26.

How long does it take?

Our priority is to get every patient seen as quickly as possible. While wait times do vary, our average wait time is approximately 20 minutes.

The length of your visit will depend on whether tests, X-rays or procedures are being performed. Most patients are in our office for less than an hour.

Can Kinder Pediatric urgent care do stitches?

In some cases, YES. Depending on the severity of the injury, our team may recommend a higher level of care. If you are bleeding profusely, or if the bleeding will not stop, immediately go to the ER.

Do you do blood tests?

We are equipped with an in-house laboratory for blood testing for in-house orders only.

Can urgent care do physicals?

Due to the urgent care focus of our facility, Kinder Pediatric Urgent Care does not provide sports or annual physicals, routine well-child exams or routine vaccinations.

Can urgent care perform diagnostic imaging?

Our  centers have in-house diagnostic technologies to perform x-ray  on-site. (Please call site location for availability)

Can urgent care write a doctor’s note?

If you are seen at our facilities, we can provide a doctor’s note or excuse of absence upon request.

What to bring as walk in?

When you visit, please be sure to bring:

  • A form of photo identification
  • Your insurance card
  • A form of payment 

We offer convenient payment options including cash, or credit card. Insurance co-payments are due at time of service.

Tips to Help You Get the Most From Your Walk In Visit

  • Walk-in patients are welcome at any time.
  • Walk-in patients are generally seen in the order they arrive.
  • Some patients may be seen ahead of others based on their medical needs.

How will my doctor learn about my care and diagnosis?

One of the benefits of visiting Kinder Pediatric Urgent Care is that we keep your doctor informed of your visit so they can follow up with you as needed. No matter who you choose as your primary care provider or what insurance you have, we provide the same level of care, which includes engaging your physician. This team-based approach helps you and your doctor make the best medical decisions for you.

How much will my Urgent Care visit cost if I don’t have health insurance?

We offer competitive self-pay rates for our non-insured patients

  • Additional fees apply for labs, x-rays and procedures
  • Patients are responsible for any external lab fees associated with Urgent Care visits
