particles from wildfire are so small that they enter and lodge deep in the lungs. Particle pollution triggers asthma attacks, heart attacks and strokes—and can kill.

According to Department of Enviromental Protection in New Jersey air toxics are real threats to health.,

Particle pollution, also known as particulate matter or PM, is considered to be the primary public health threat caused by wildfire smoke. Particulate matter can include acids (like sulfuric acid), inorganic compounds (like ammonium sulfate, ammonium nitrate, and sodium chloride), organic chemicals, soot, metals, and particles from soil and dust.

TIPS AND WARNINGS:

  • Wear masks if your lungs are not strong enough to handle particles.
  • Prevention is better than cure so be proactive in air toxics.
  • If you need guidance about particles and air toxics, go to any urgent care or walk in clinic nearby and let doctor assess you.
